Vinted Shoppers Voice Frustration Regarding Size Modifications
Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information.
The popular resale platform has revised its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel without notifying all shoppers about the modification.
Online Platforms Reaction
Countless users and merchants have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification.
The platform stated the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces.
The platform has recommended to check their listings and manually change the size where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction.
Size Classification Modifications
Previously, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10.
For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
Member Stories
A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
A different member, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she explained.
Required Changes
A different user, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she stated.
Marketplace Information
The platform boasts over 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options after backlash from users.
